These include <strong>epoxy coatings <\/strong>inside metal food and <strong>drink cans and durable plastics<\/strong> used in reusable bottles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The rule took effect in <strong>January 2025<\/strong> and provides an <strong>18-month transition<\/strong> period for most products. Under the Windsor Framework the <strong>ban applies in Northern Ireland<\/strong> <strong>but<\/strong> <strong>not in England, Scotland or Wales<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"UK_Proposal_Mirrors_EU_Approach\"><\/span><strong>UK Proposal Mirrors EU Approach<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To maintain a high level of health protection and support businesses that trade across both UK and EU markets, the FSA launched a <strong>12-week consultation on October 2<\/strong>, <strong>2025<\/strong>. The agency proposes to <strong>prohibit BPA and its analogues in food contact materials<\/strong> and to align transitional periods and end dates with the EU timeline.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The FSA notes that some transition dates may have already expired by the time the UK rule is implemented.
