All of the previously mentioned events are held in support of an international packaging design awards program, the <a href=\"https:\/\/worldstar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">WorldStar Global Packaging Awards<\/a>, while also promoting contact and communication between various national packaging institutes and companies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_WorldStar_Global_Packaging_Awards\"><\/span>The WorldStar Global Packaging Awards<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since the first competition back in 1970, the <em>WPO<\/em> awards have been the preeminent global competition in packaging, highlighting the trends and challenges the packaging industry faces on a global scale. \u201cIt is always with pride and excitement that WPO announces the best of the best packaging innovation around the globe. The WorldStar Awards showcases how dynamic and technological the packaging is on a global level\u201d, <a href=\"https:\/\/worldstar.org\/news_detail\/20\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shared<\/a> Luciana Pellegrino, President of the <em>WPO<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With this year\u2019s number of participating organizations reaching over 400 entries from more than 40 different countries, the top 5 winners by country are:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Japan (28 wins)<\/li>\n<li>Germany (21 wins)<\/li>\n<li>Australia and New Zealand (16 wins)<\/li>\n<li>USA (12 wins)<\/li>\n<li>Brazil and Austria (11 wins each).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Companies that qualify for entering the competition must have already won a national or regional award in a packaging competition that is recognized by the <em>WPO<\/em>, within the last two years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The actual award ceremony will be held on June 15<sup>th<\/sup>, during the \u201cProPak Asia\u201d event in Thailand. Due to the lack of any plastic lamination layer and the fact that the packaging product is based on the UPM ConfidioTM barrier paper, it\u2019s great for recycling in regular fiber-recycling streams.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is important for the future of the packaging industry that events like WorldStar Global Packaging Awards exist, since they provide to organizations across the world the chance to share their knowledge and expertise.
