In December 2020 regulation 2020/2151 was published, regarding the marking specification of specific plastic products as listed in Part D of the Annex of regulation 2019/904. These plastic products are:
- Sanitary towels (pads), tampons and tampon applicators
- Wet wipes
- Tobacco products with filters and filters marketed for use in combination with tobacco products
- Cups for beverages
As stated in the Annex of 2020/2151, a specific sign has to be printed in the packaging of all the above products. This mark has to be of specific color and size and be easily identifiable from the consumers. The regulation specifies any technical details needed for the application of these markings.
