European commision recently published a warning note to Member States, informing which of them is expected to comply with targets set by European Green Deal until 2025, regarding recyclability of municipal and packaging waste.
According to Green Deal and legislations 2008/98/EC and 94/62/EC , two targets are required to be met until 2025.
1) minimum 55 % for re-use and recycling of municipal waste
2) minimum 65 % for recycling of all packaging waste
Nine (9) Member States (Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Slovenia) are likely to meet the targets on time.
The rest nineteen (19) Member States including Greece, France, Ireland, Finland and Croatia will, most probably, lose the target of at least one of the above categories.
